Optus

A World Of Difference

You can’t be what you can’t see.

There is no arguing that women’s sport has an equality problem. It is is less watched, less promoted and less rewarded than men’s sport. Male athletes get big sponsorships while female athletes work two jobs to stay in the game, something I became aware of more directly working with the Olympic and Paralympic athletes.  It wasn’t so long ago you could barely find a woman’s match on TV.

Time for change. Change that Optus was ready to support.

“Change the future they see” was created to launch Optus’s giveaway of coverage of the entire FIFA World Cup to Australian school aged children in 2019 to promote equality and engagement. The campaign ran nationally across TV and digital video, as a hero 60 and 30 cutdown.

It was a privilege to work on an initiative that fostered equality with such a concrete practical outcome.
